How to reach the conference venues
How to reach Roma Tre University:
The Department of Political Sciences of Roma Tre University is nearby the center of Rome.
a) From Fiumicino Airport “Leonardo Da Vinci”:
- By train (recommended): The best option is to take the no-stop train “Leonardo Express” to Termini station (travel time: about 30 minutes). From Termini follow the instructions in c). The train timetable and fares can be found on the TRENITALIA website.
- By taxi: The official fixed rate (all included) from Fiumicino airport to any destination within the ancient Roman walls (Mura Aureliane) is 55 euros. The ride to Roma Tre takes about 30/40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
b) From Ciampino Airport “G. B. Pastine”:
- By bus (recommended): Connections to Termini station (in about 30-40 minutes) are guaranteed by the bus services operated by ATRAL, COTRAL, SIT, TERRAVISION companies. The fare is about 5 euros. From Termini follow the instructions in c).
- By taxi: the official fixed rate (all included) from Ciampino airport to any destination within the ancient Roman walls (Mura Aureliane) is 40 euros. The ride to Roma Tre takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
c) From Termini Train Station:
From Termini station to the Dpt. of Political Sciences the fastest option is the subway, alternativity you can take a bus.
- By metro: Take the Line B and stop at Basilica S. Paolo. The ticket price for a single journey is 1,50 euros. From there to the conference site is a 7 minutes’ walk, see directions.
- By bus: The bus line 714 stops close to the conference site. The ticket price for a single journey is 1,50 euros. To plan your trip visit the ATAC website or MyCicero app.
How to reach LUMSA University:
The “Jubilee complex and Conference Centre” of LUMSA University is located in the heart of Rome, near Vatican City.
a) From Fiumicino Airport “Leonardo Da Vinci”:
- By train (recommended): Take the non-stop Leonardo Express train to Termini Station (approx. 30 minutes). From Termini, follow the instructions in c). You can check schedules and fares on the TRENITALIA website.
- By taxi: A fixed fare of €55 (all-inclusive) applies to all destinations within the ancient Roman walls (Mura Aureliane). The ride to LUMSA Porta Castello takes approximately 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic.
b) From Ciampino Airport “G. B. Pastine”:
- By bus (recommended): Several bus companies (e.g., ATRAL, COTRAL, SIT, TERRAVISION) provide connections to Termini Station (approx. 30–40 minutes). Fares are around €5. From Termini, refer to in c).
- By taxi: A fixed fare of €40 (all-inclusive) applies to destinations within the ancient Roman walls (Mura Aureliane). Travel time to LUMSA Porta Castello is approximately 40–50 minutes, depending on traffic.
c) From Termini Train Station:
From Termini station to the Dpt. of Political Sciences the fastest option is the subway, alternativity you can take a bus.
- By metro: Take Metro Line A towards Battistini and get off at Ottaviano station. The fare for a single journey is €1.50. The conference site is 15 minutes away on foot (directions) or 10 minutes away by bus (directions).
- By taxi: The ride from Termini to LUMSA Porta Castello typically takes 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic.
Other useful Public Transport information
a. Ticket Information. You can pay for bus and metro rides contactlessly using a credit or debit card directly at the turnstiles or when boarding (to recover your receipts register your card on MyAtac). Metro and bus tickets can also be purchased at machines, Tabacchi shops, or via mobile apps like myCicero or ATAC Roma.
b. Navigation. Apps like Moovit or Google Maps can help you navigate Rome’s metro, bus, and tram systems in real time.
c. Pickpocketing Alert. Be cautious at Termini Station and on public transport.

How to reach the social events
- Social dinner
To reach Terrazza Les Étoiles, take metro line B (blue) from San Paolo station towards Laurentina, and change to line A (red) at Termini towards Battistini. Get off at Ottaviano station, from where it is a 10-minute walk.
